Privacy policy

CubbyCAD is run by Joshua Bemenderfer, an individual in Georgia, USA. "We" and "us" on this page mean him. This policy covers cubbycad.com, the editor, the explore and browse pages, the embeddable part viewer and the slicer.

If you don't sign in

You can use the editor without an account. Your work is then stored in your browser or in a folder on your device, and it never reaches our servers.

Your account

Accounts are optional. You can sign in with an email and password, or with a sign-in provider you choose (such as Google). For an account we store:

• your email address and name
• your profile picture, if your sign-in provider shares one
• a hashed password, if you use email and password (we never store the password itself)
• when you last used your account
• which plan you're on

Files you save to the cloud

When you're signed in and save to a cloud workspace, we store what you save: parts, scenes, uploaded meshes, images and fonts, preview thumbnails, and your workspace names, descriptions and tags.

Payments

Payments are handled by a payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. We keep a record of your subscription and its status.

AI assistant

If you use the optional AI assistant with your own API key, your browser sends your prompt and scene data straight to the AI provider you configured. It doesn't go through our servers, and that provider's own terms apply.

Cookies and browser storage

If you sign in, we set cookies that keep you signed in. The editor also uses your browser's local storage for its own settings, such as graphics options, whether you've seen the tour, your AI key and model, and drafts and local backups.

There are no advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers on the site or in the editor.

Running the service

We use your data to run CubbyCAD: signing you in, storing and showing your files, taking payments, and sending the emails you need, such as account verification, password resets and billing notices.

Product emails

The only other thing we use your data for is sending occasional emails about product updates and news. You can turn these off at any time with the Product updates and news switch on your account page, or with the unsubscribe link in every one of those emails. Account and billing emails still go out.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the services that help run CubbyCAD, and only as much as each one needs:

• hosting and infrastructure providers, which store and deliver the site, the editor and your cloud files
• the sign-in provider you choose, if you don't use email and password
• a payment processor, if you subscribe
• an email delivery provider

We may also disclose data when the law requires it.

Public workspaces and parts

If you make a workspace or part public, anyone can see it. Public work shows up on the explore and browse pages, and other people can embed it on their own sites. You can keep individual parts private inside a public workspace.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your own workspaces at any time. Our payment processor keeps its own payment records for as long as the law requires.

Deleting your account

To delete your account, email [email protected]. We'll delete your account data and your cloud files. Copies in our backups roll off within about 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data by emailing [email protected]. Your files can be downloaded at any time. If you're in the EU or UK, you have the rights the GDPR gives you, and you can use them the same way.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, and everything is sent over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, though, so we can't promise nothing will ever go wrong.

Children

CubbyCAD isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child under 13 has given us personal data, email [email protected] and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For a material change we'll also tell you by email or with a notice on the site.
